I am a passionate believer in developing the dream team prior to or early on in the journey to your goals. Dream teams consist of the skills, expertise and the knowledge you need to realize your vision. Every dream team is unique in it’s specific skill set, experience and knowledge; based on the unique venture, mosaic, masterpiece the team is bringing to life, growing and or leading. The dream team guides the venture from where it is today, to where it wants to be tomorrow…. ultimately to the “vision.”
Here are a few questions to think about as you prepare to add team to realize your dream:
What’s your ultimate goal, vision; end in mind?
Where are you in the process?
What’s the biggest opportunity your company has?
What are your businesses strengths and weaknesses?
What makes your business unique? Different?
What is keeping you from realizing the benchmarks and vision you described above?
How profitable are you; what’s your gross profit % and Net income %?
How is cash flow? Do you have a statement of cash flow and do you pull a profit and loss every 30 days?
What resources do you need to realize your vision?
Describe your dream team now; skills, expertise…knowledge.
What other knowledge, skills and expertise will you need to create, grow or lead your venture?
How would you define success in 2 yrs…5yrs?
What’s it going to take to realize your benchmarks for success for 2 yrs or 5yrs?
