Time To Live A New Story?

Stories revolve around a character. A character who wants something and is willing to overcome conflict to get it, or dies trying.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve lived plenty of stories. And throughout the past 48 years there’s been plenty of times I’ve wanted to change my story, the plot I’d chosen, the conflict that engulfed me, what I wanted and the drama; amount of pain and suffering in my story.

I’ve had some stories:

There was the one about being a successful athlete. Then another one about being a successful salon owner. And then that story of the divorced, single mom. I had a major story about betrayal and abandonment. Oh the stories I’ve told myself. The stories I’ve chosen, the stories that I’ve found myself a part of; some have liberated, others imprisoned me.

What’s your story? What’s your back story? How might the stories you’ve lived, the stories that you replay in your mind be affecting YOUR story; here, now, presently?

Some of us have endured misfortune, tragedy, loss, human errors and disappointment. What if these painful elements are not personal at all, but rather elements found in every human story. Elements that can inspire us and which we can choose to NOT allow to define us.

What might still be possible in YOUR story. If you let go of all of YOUR stories? At least the ones that no longer ring true to your truest self, and your deepest desires?

Oh that you and I would wake up to the stories that imprison us. The stories that chain us to lives we don’t want to live, lives we’ve outgrown…

Every breath offers you and I an opportunity to write a new story, the story that shouts loudly in your minds ears, the story that the voice within has been trying to persuade you to live, become?

What if?

Time to live a new story?
