When the ‘sky’ is falling & the earth shaking; Inspiration
‘Everybody falls sometimes, gotta find the strength to rise from the ashes and make a new beginning….. ” Everyone can feel the ache, you think it’s more than you can take, but you are stronger, stronger than you know…..
I’ve seen dreams that move mountains, hope that never ends EVEN when the sky is falling. I’ve seen miracles just happen, silent prayers get answered…broken hearts become brand new; that’s what faith can do.”
I talked to a lifetime friend yesterday who feels like the ‘sky is falling’ in his life. Then the radio blared the devastating report about the earthquake in Haiti.
So what happens when the sky feels like it’s falling and when the ground shakes so hard it kills?
I’ve never been in an earthquake but I’ve had my foundation rocked to it’s core; several times. I haven’t had rocks kill people I love, but 5 people I called family have died tragically. And then there have been those less tragic, but still painful moments in my life where I have felt as if the ‘sky in my world was falling.’
Every body does fall down.
Yesterday I cried tears for my friend, for Haiti and for myself and then I reminded myself Faith matters.
The only failure I know is in staying down and as the song reminds, ‘impossible’ is only a word. Who hasn’t felt fear? As leaders we are called to embrace what it is and rise again. I believe that here, now presently dreams can move mountains.
So later today I will call my friend and encourage him to rise again, not to give up. Then I will call the American Red Cross and see what I can do to help the people of Haiti. Later tonight when I have time to contemplate the ever-changing terrain of my life, I will remind myself;
Impossible is just a word, just a reason not to try, not to rise again, not to step out…..
Faith has hands and feet; mine…
